hey guys,

just wanna check out if anyone is aware of whether it is possible to obtain the java apps installed on the Sony Ericsson C510a (Facebook mainly, or on 3 UK the windows messenger app..) and then install them on a W995a... it's exactly the same software so i cant see why not, but it doesnt seem SE have made these available to anyone...

am i wrong in thinking there must be a way to highjack those .jar files out of the firmware?

cheers!

Some java apps just work on the basis of screen resolution, my w705 is happy with any app that is 240x320. It may be fair to say that as long as the intended phone that the app was made for has the same resolution as the phone you have there is a high chance it will work. However I may be quite wrong, please correct my if so.

I believe the w995 also has a 240x320 res screen

yeah but you're both missing my point here entirely.

The issue is not compatibility, its access... where can i get these apps from? they are pre-installed on the c510a, and there doesnt seem to be anywhere to download them.

You're right about the java side of things though, and the other bonus is that both of the phones i am talking about run the same SE OS
