Does anyone know if I can get my SE w810i unlocked in Hamilton?  I know there are a couple of places that do it in Auckland, but I'd rather not send it away.

Cheers.

Call 0800VFUNLOCK and they will give you a code and instructions to unlock

I've just done the same with 2 SonyEricsson models in the last few days (family switching to 2deg)

Who advised VFNZ SIM locked the handset?

People will read this when they get handsets overseas and then start calling Vodafone NZ to get them unlocked

The OP should have advised where the handset was purchased

Sorry... I bought the phone in Ireland.
I actually already had it unlocked while I was in Dublin, and it was working fine on the NZ Vodafone network - but I thought it would be nice to debrand, and after I debranded my phone ended up locked again.

Does that 0800 number only work for NZVF phones??

So any other ideas for getting it unlocked?

I have been quoted a price of $45 from a company in Auckland, plus postage there and back - sounds a little bit high to me, but that's probably because I am comparing it to the 12 euro I paid last time.

Your phone got locked again coz it wasn't fully unlocked. They patch unlocked your phone. Ask the repair centre if they do full unlock or patch unlock. I think $45 is not bad if fully unlocked.
