Try crashing the phone, IE removing the battery while the phone is on. If that does not cure it ring Telecom helpdesk on *123 from mobile. Good luck

I have heard of that before. My boyfriends phone will not open any saved or new PXT messages on that phone although they have been viewed before.

Telecom customer services, as usual, were no help whatsoever let alone polite or friendly so if anyone can helo with this that would be good :)

PS: Tried resetting phone by removing battery already...

I think the issue is with MobileFone Repair here, surprise surprise.

Usually I would say to get the Telecom store to send it back to them to sort it out, but I wouldnt wish MobileFone Repair upon anyone right now.

Take it back to the Telecom dealer, and ask them to process it via the esculations process. This has recently been put in place because of all the problems with MFR. Customers are getting replacement handsets via this process (Brand new in box) and in some cases we have even got a different model, because customer has had multiple repairs on one model and has lost confidence in it.

When you take it back to them, tell them you have already had 2 repairs and you are not prepared to send it away again. Tell them you would like it esculated and resolved.

Mmm My 2nd Alcatel 565s key pad screwed up and so I took it back and was sent to them, they DELETED EVERYTHING! and didn' look at the keypad even though they were aware of it.

So I got it sent back again, they again said they were aware of it but sent it back.

So I finally got so P|ssed, I got a new Phone, And The store aren't going to pay MFR For their crappy service, are there ANY alternatives?

Unfortunately no :(...

MFR is the only place to get a phone legitimately repaired in NZ...

If its an Alcatel 565 bought in NZ, it is under warranty. If you have had it repaired (or in this case, 'attempted' repair) more than twice, take it into the store you bought it from and ask them to replace it. Unless you caused the damage, they are required to replace it.

Maybe theres somebody out there who is keen to start up a new repair company???

There are plenty out there who would like to run an alternative repair company, but without the support of the manufacturers and Telecom.......like pushing #$@% uphill. The new esculations process via Telecom seems to work fairly well though for getting replacement phones.

Well its about time that they realised that the quality of service people recieve from their repair company, affects the overall quality of service from whichever manufacturer made their phone. The repair company have been authorised to 'act on behalf' (i think is the best way to put it) of the manufacturer in regards to repairs and or warranty servicing.
It also affects the quality of service from Telecom & Vodafone.
As far as I am aware, the general standard of service from MFR is below average, therefore the standard of service from the manufacturers, Telecom and Vodafone has dropped. Also if consumers are having problems with the standard or service from MFR imagine the issues the dealerships are having in dealing with them as this is where most communication for a repair is made, and there is no alternative for warranty procedures...
Obviously Telecom has done something about it with their esculation process, at a cost to themselves which should not be necessary... Sooo, Vodafone...???

I do think it is primarily the decision of the maufacturers as to who they licence to do authorised repairs.

I heard a rumor that there may be a new repair centre opening who will be doing out of warranty repairs to phones (as I assume they will most likely not be licenced)...

Telecom has just released a system whereby dealers can log on to a centralised site to log warranty faults and repair jobs with phones.

This should see a significant improvement for customers in the way repair jobs are handled. It should also provide much better access to information in the event that service falls below par (a rare event i know :-))

if a new non-manufacteruer and non-telecom authorised service centre opens up, you can bet your bottom dollar that no mainstream stores will be using them for any great percentage of repairs. There will be something in the dealer agreements that mandates how repairs are handled.
