Hi

My wife and I are after new handsets and we want handsets that when you received a msg [txt or otherwise] it will have a persistant reminder. On my old Motorola if I receive a txt the phone will chirp ever so often until I read it, apparently not many handsets have this feature anymore

I think the Sony T707 has the flashing light on the flip lid and I heard some Samsungs also allow a persistant reminder

The less it costs the better !

Thx in advance

I have only seen this happening on Sanyos and Samsungs myself. Annoyingly absent from Nokias.

Assuming you are talking about audible alert. Many handsets including Nokia will flash a light for ages (or forever).

Flashing is the best that most brands will come up with these days.

The N97 has a notification light that flashes whenever there has been a missed call, new message or new email. It can be set to flash as long as you want.

I really miss my old motorolas missed call/message beep. I'm often slack on returning messages just because I can't see my phone's (Nokia 5800) flashing light. As the phone pretty much lives in its case a flashing light is totally useless.

Perhaps not in the price range you're looking for, but the iPhone has this feature to a certain extent. You can turn on 'Repeat Alert' for messages and it will repeat the incoming message tone for you twice after the initial incoming alert. I think they're about 5 mins and 10 mins after the initial message.

Not persistent as such, but I find it rather useful

Also a lot of places use phones instead of pagers now, and a persistent txt message noise is good for making you get out of bed.

I have an LG GM310f - I am able to set the message alert to sound once / every minute / every five minutes or every hour until I have read / acknowledged the message.
