I can't seem to tell from my research whether the Ping application for iphone incurs charges when out of wifi range? Common sense suggests it must but the blurbs keeps saying it's FREE iphone to iphone messaging. So;
 
1. Are there data charges outside of wifi?
2. If no, how in the hell does that work?
