No sure if you mean m4a rather than mp4. Mp4 is compressed video, which the 8200 doesn't do.
Not sure if it does m4a either.

Try .qcp. This is highly compressed audio, supported by sprint phones. The format is made by Qualcomm PureVoice (http://www.cdmatech.com/solutions/products/purevoice.jsp) and you can convert wav files into qcp format with their converter (http://www.cdmatech.com/solutions/products/purevoice_download.jsp).

Make sure you start with a 8 khz (8,000 hz), 16-bit, mono .wav file.

Further instructions are on the SprintUsers forum. (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11225)
