I got a quick question for people who know handsets [And I need to get back to them by 1:00PM]

I lost my fantastic E90 after years - which was the flagship model 2 years ago. PhoneInsure said they cant replace it with E90 as it is obsolete.

I asked for a N900 and they said it is not a model they stock.

I asked for an Iphone - and they said they can only give me an iPhone if I had an iPhone in the first place.

So they come back with the following choice:

E72
E71
E75

What should I go for in terms of value for money? Is any of the three phones got serious problems that makes them a big no-no? Or should I go for a cheaper phone like N97 (not an option they gave - but worth trying).

I like the E75 - but it is an old model (1 year old)

johnr: Nokia E71

I am finding it hard to say No to a $1300 phone (E75) and a $1100 phone (E72) for a $600 phone you are suggesting (E71). What is special about it (apart from the simplicity and no sliding keyboard)?

Hi there,

About the insurence i don't know exactly, but I know few things :

* E90, is old phone, propably not sold anymore or realy not much. The only way to get it is by quoting for a new phone from NOKIA CARE, it;s Valid only for physicaly damaged. otherwise your insurence has to brige somehow. It other words, You probably won't able to get E90 if you lost it.

* N900 - As far as i read/know/search/knoledge, Vodafone NZ didn't approved to sell it here. Telecom NZ not an issue at all. 2 Degrees - I have no idea.

N900 - GSM 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS 900/1700/2100
2 degrees - GSM 900/limited 1800
vodafone - GSM900/1800, UMTS 900/2100
TELECOM - UMTS 850/2100.

It doesn't sale on autorise TELECOM/VODAFONE/2DEGREES retailer, so maybe it mean, only for tis stage, it's not cover under warranty.
I don't know if PARALEL IMPORTED for example having any agreement with Insurence companies (don't realy know how thing go). so many types of insurences ... If you do insurence for your stuff at home againt steeling. Someone broke into your house, stole yor PC and your n900 handset. if you kept the invoces you might be able to claim back for your stolen items, like E90.

E71, yeah, its a good phone, not to many issues, quiet relieble. good battery.i like the display, strong material(covers).
E72/n97, no idea, never had, bener tested.
E75, having some issues with email, suffering from data currupted (caused by consumer, could be slow with facebook, needs sw upgrade. The seal around the upper part of the slide is not a good material and get broken, warranty issue on Vodafone and Telecom.

E75 - didn't test/check the GPS.

PAGEWEON : do you have E75 vodafone or telecom? how the GPS function?
