Hi all,
I don't know a lot about cell phones or associated technologies, but I was looking at a website the other day that had great prices on mobile phones and cameras (I want a new phone, my parents want a new camera)

All of them seemed to be GSM phones, no CDMA.

Is it simply a matter of buying a sim card for a phone purchased like this?

If anyone is interested in taking a look, the website is http://portagadgets.com/australia/home.php (maybe people here have had some experience with this site?)

Thanks for your help!

You can't use imported CDMA phones on Telecom's network.

You also need to factor in shipping costs, GST/duty if applicable and lack of warranty and decide whether importing goods stacks up vs buying locally.
