Hi, can someone advise me the 3G freq on the Telecom XT version of the iPhone?

And, if anyone knows are there any 3G freq on the XT iPhone that will work in Asia as 3G? I know that the 850 does not work in Asia generally, it's primarily NZ (and Aust?) and the Americas.

Lastly, does GPS work without mobile data and how adequate is it? Quick enough to walk to your address and it can provide prompts WITHOUT significant delays?

There is no such thing as the XT version of the iphone

All you need is the iphone 3G or 3Gs nothing else

John, what frequency does that phone that are 3G? So I can look those freq up in Asia and see if it is supported.

So a iPhone can be used 3G with XT or Vodafone?

The iphone 3G and 3Gs support UMTS 850/2100mhz and also 2G GSM 850/900

There are some other 2G/3G bands it supports as well

Sweet 2100 looks like supported in Asia. What freq does Vodafone run on?

UMTS 2100/900
GSM 900/1800

The UMTS2100 areas are shown in red on the Vodafone coverage map and Orange for UMTS900 3G extended

(note iphone 3G or 3Gs does not support UMTS900)
