Just wanting to know is it worth upgrading from iphone 3gs to iphone 4 ..what are the advantages and disadvantages to upgrading for software and compatabilities

any constructive input appreciated

You should edit the title of this thread as it currently reads "iphone 3gs v iphone".

Anyway, I personally own a 3GS and I am not upgrading to iPhone 4. After looking at iPhone 4, I am impressed by the screen and the camera. The rest was a "meh" as it was virtually the same. 3GS can upgrade to the latest iOS 4.1 and the only thing you lose on would be the camera and the screen resolution.

Upgrade only if your 3GS is dying in my opinion.

Agreed - Running the two phones side by side performance is very similar.
