Hello,

I am going to be spending 5 months in Wellington this summer/winter and I will be needing a mobile phone...

I already have an unlocked Sony Ericsson K750i, would it work on NZ networks ?

So far I have encountered Vodafone and Telecom as far as networks go, are there any others ?

their plans look very similar, is one better than the other? Which on has better coverage in Wellington/Lower Hutt?

Thanks for any help!

Welcome to Geekzone (and New Zealand). Telecom is a CDMA network, so your only option is Vodafone New Zealand. You can simply purchase a prepay SIM card and use it on your phone.

You will have voice and SMS, even WAP, but I am not sure it will work 100% with Vodafone live.

These are the two networks here, although Telstra Clear sells their own brand but it's a Vodafone service.

Other than that, enjoy your time here in Wellington!
