Just get a brand new IDEOS Androd from 2degrees. It will work on 2degrees and Vodafone. Not locked. Pretty good stuff too.

I don't believe so, you need a blackberry plan.

The Vodafone 845 is a full-blown smartphone running Android v2.1 (well, too....) for $175 at DSE until COB Saturday.

I got one from Vodafone for $199. Only downside is 2.8" resistive screen, but for the price, it's incredible value. It will run all but a tiny handful (less than 10) of the 100,000 apps in the Android Market (that need an ARMv7 processor).

You might find you ditch the iPhone 4 for a top-end Android phone once you work out all the stuff Android can do that iPhone isn't allowed to do by Apple (like directly access windows shares on a LAN to copy files on / off the phone for immediate use without any iTunes getting in the way).

My main phone is a Samsung Galaxy S.
