Hi all.
I remember reading something about this a while ago - weren't the manufacturers discussing a standard or something?
Or, perhaps users of new smartphones can let me know what plugs they have on them?
We have loose data based on aftermarket sales of chargers as to what proportions have been purchased here (2 mm Nokia, Mini USB, Micro USB, Sony Ericsson, old Nokia etc)  but for a new project are very interested in a trend going forward.
Appreciate some feedback.

Thanks

Mark

All major handset manufacturers (excluding Apple) are moving towards MicroUSB charging.

Most handsets released in the last half of this year have moved towards this, with I think a deadline of mid 2011 being the cutoff (not 100% on this though)

Ahaaa, thanks.

Are all the Micro USB plugs compatible- I ask as I use mine for data and charging, and I imagine there are different pin layouts etc

If its a standard I'd think that certainly the charging pins would be. But I remember an Mot RZR I had only liked its own mini usb, whilst other mini usb handsets (BB, HTC) were less fussy
