My mother informs me last night that she will be heading to Australia soon for quite some time, doing bit of a road trip with family members starting in Queensland and driving who knows where (inc outback) for who knows how long.....

Now, I want her to have a smartphone with Android so she can run apps such as Google Maps, 4Square etc so she knows where shes going and I know where she is :-)

I assume the IDEOS 8150 will work happily with AU phone networks ? If not, a "cheap" alternative ?

I know she wont get signal everywhere especially if they head into the outback.

TIA

Yeah you'll have no problem with the Ideos 8150 working in AUS. That's a good phone and will do what your Mum needs it to do.
