I have an ipac 1940 and a Siemens S55, both are blue tooth.
I am able to establish a connection between them.
My phone has a GPRS connection that my company has set up with
Orange.
I want to connect my ipac to the phone and use the GPRS connection
to surf the internet on the ipac, but can't work out how to do it.
Is a GPRS connection still classed as dial up ?
Can anyone help ?

You should be able to do it without problems. Look at this article. Of course you'll have to replace the Vodafone information with your Orange configuration.

I have tried this but it keeps asking for username and password.
When I look in the phone internet set up I cannot find any.

Try APN name orangeinternet. In the init string enter +CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”orangeinternet”

If asked enter username gprs and password gprs.

Or you can try Connect2Internet and the program should do the configuration for you.

With GPRS; there is no username or password required - although as the connection is effectively still a dialup connection the Ipaq still asks for one - so just leave the fields blank and push connect.

Hey there

I have iPAQ a H2210 and a SonyEricsson T610. I can establish a Bluetooth connection, as described in the article on this site (Bluetooth dial up guide for iPaq Windows Mobile 2003 (GPRS or CDMA)).
But, I can't browse any website?! Error "can't open the website, or website not found".

Does someone have a tip for me?

thanks a lot!!

FrEaK_@CH, are you using the correct APN? Some APN will allow only access to WAP sites, while others will give you access to internet resources.

Are you able to PING a server, by using VxUTIL (there's a download link in our troubleshot guide)?

You have to find the APN with your mobile provider. On the iPAQ you can enter a connection string like +CGDCONT=1,,"internet", replacing internet with your APN.

ok, I can't PING any IP address...

When I take a look in the GPRS configuration on my T610, the APN is configured with the value 'internet'.
But, where can I set the connection string on the iPAQ? (which menu?)

Open Setting, change to Connection tab. Switch to Advanced mode, tap the Select

Networks
button. Tap the Edit button. Select the connection you want to change

and tap Edit....

Tap Next until you find the Advanced button. Enter the string in Extra

dial-string modem commands:
