I was wondering if I could use my HP Touchpad charger on my HTC Wildfire or would that damage my phone?

The output for the touchpad charger is 5.3V 2.0A and my original wildfire charger is 5V 1A

If it is a standard USB connection on the charger, I don't see why not.

The 2 Amp rating is simply what the charger is capable of outputting. The critical thing is the voltage, which is close enough to the USB standard of 5 volts, so it should be fine.

EDIT: I would say the slightly higher voltage is in place to counteract for increased voltage drop across the cable during high current situations.
