Hi there,

I am not sure if this is the correct forum to be posting in but i am have a really frustrating issue with my Nokia E71 phone. My phone broke so my dad gave me a Nokia E71 that one of his staff used to use.

But when i put my sim in, this one message keeps popping up all the time and it is extremely frustrating. It pops up during composing text messages and it also interferes with phone calls as it pops up just before im about to answer a call. It beeps when the message comes up so you can understand how frustrating it is. The message reads: "Invalid Password. Check the Password in Profile> Credentials> Password."

This is very strange because i have never entered a password into this phone and there was photos and contacts on the handset from the old user so potentially the old user set a password for the phone? It is also confusing because when i go into 'Profiles', it is only to do with sounds such as silent and normal modes etc.

Please help me, i need to use this phone a lot so this is extremely frustrating. Can anyone please solve this issue or tell me what to do? Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks,
KC

You should really do a factory reset on the phone to erase everything the previous owner left there and start fresh.

It's just some code you enter via keyboard. Google as we don't give out codes here.

Really easy to do.  I just did a factory reset on my E71 before putting it on trademe.

For best results, search "nokia e71 hard reset"

Thanks for that.

I just tried entering the code and when it asked me for a password i entered the suggested one but it says incorrect code. I'm not sure what to do now. Any suggestions?

Just on a similar note.  Can anyone just send it to the manufacturer to reset it?  I mean if someone picks up a lost phone or steals it ...
