Got this unit on a vodafone plan in the UK last year, but it won't work here in NZ with a vodafone NZ SIM.  Does this need to be 'unlocked'?  Our Nokia died after our baby smashed in on the floor...

Any ideas, help, unlock code???

Cheers & beers, Stevo

Yes this will need to be unlocked. You can get the unlock code from Vodafone UK, i hear they are very good doing that, or you can take it to a VF store here and they will get it done for you.

I would assume taking it to a store to be unlocked would cost. Im not sure if VF UK charge to give you the code either.

Actually i have taken 2 imported handsets into a VF store to be unlocked in the last couple of months.

Obviously this is not an official VF service. But trust me many stores provide the service... they do send the handsets away to be done however.

I completed the online webform at Vodafones UK website.  They emailed me this morining requesting some details from the back of the phone... looks like they'll email me the unlock codes.
