Hi,

I build mobile applications, and am looking to integrate SMS into some of my apps. Initially all I want to do is to SMS a device in the field and tell them something - like a new job for them to do.  So I'm looking for some kind of ActiveX/COM control I can drop into my Delphi app ...

www.message-media.co.nz looked like the way to go, but I've left messages and emails and aren't getting any responses - and their tech support number on their web site is "no longer allocated."  Shame - their ActiveX control looks like it would do just what I want it to ...

Any other suggestions as to who I could look to ?

Cheers,

Simon

Hi Simon,

What number were you ringing? 0508 009 767?

I've used message-media quite a bit and have had nothing but excellent service from them.
They are always keen to work through any issues (which have always turned out to be with the software interfacing to their system - ie not their problem), yet they are still happy to work things through.

Give them a call directly on the number above - I just double-checked that it works (and spoke to them myself).

Nigel H.

PS Just in case you were wondering, I don't work for them - I've just honestly found them to be really good to deal with.

Hi Nigel,

I talked on Monday morning to a very nice lady at 0508 009 767 who promised to get someone to call me back. Nope. Their web site also lists 0508 155 228 as being a tech support number; but it doesn't work; they have a tech support email support@message-media.co.nz - no response; and they have a web-based enquiry page - again no response.

All I'm trying to do is test their trial server - they document the login/password in their trial software documentation which you can freely download, but it doesn't work. Don't suppose you know the new trial login/passworld

I need to get a demo out to a customer today - I'd seen that people rate message-media highly and haven't found an alternative ...

<sigh> will keep trying ...

Simon

Nigel may be late to reply to your post. He's right now in a flight to the USA, to attend a conference (so we were told during the Geekzone weekly chat last night).

Have you tried calling them again?

Ah ha ! Phone now ringing off the hook from message-media, looks like one of their numbers on their web site is wrong after all + a message simply got lost on Monday. Still not sure what happened to the email and the web enquiry, but we're now off and running !

Nice photo of Mauricio on stuff Monday, by the way.
