Recently my sister got a new Telecom mobile with the included $10 or whatever. After a few days the money ran out. Obviously she couldn't make any calls but she could txt and wap as much as she wanted for free. She even downloaded Ringtones/Games.

I assume this isn't supposed to happen but it did, so how/why did it happen?

Also is this possible on Vodafone, I think i remember someone mentioning free WAP, when their money ran out, in one of the threads here.

it seemed that vodafone wasn't charging a large chunk of their prepay customers for GPRS for over a year. This ended back in August 2003.
But, it was pretty cool for a while.
I ditched my dial up account, and just used my cellphone for about a month.

No im talking about WAP and TXT...

It is charged for when there is money on the phone,

BUT if there is no money left, you can carry on using them.

I've been trying hard not to enter in this thread, because of potential conflict of interests... But I know why, since I'm the person who wrote the technical specification for the prepay SMS billing stuff. Fear nothing, sooner or later the system will catch up...

Sorry can't say more now...

Johnr: "shows how good Telecom systems are LOL", don't worry no offences taken. There are lots of technical stuff we have to manage, and some are not at the level we can do much.

Ok, thanks,

Enough Said, someone can close the thread now if they want.

I just wanted to know whether it was a network problem or something wrong with the handset.

Thanks, Peter
