I have seen a lot of discussion regarding the Nokia 6265i.  I work for a cell phone company and test the prototype handsets on a regular basis.  I am currently testing prototypes of the Nokia 6265i and 6165i.  Both have had more glitches than most phones I have ever used.  I have checked Nokia's official website on a weekly basis and have found some conflicting information regarding the 6265i.  Mainly, it is no longer on the site! The only phone I can see that is comparable to it lists a 1.0 mega pixel camera, not the 2 mega pixel camera as the one I am using now. The company I work for has pushed back the soft launch of this phone until mid to late October for "contract ngeotiations" (i.e. the phone isn't working as it should).  The phone has a weaker signal sensitivity even with the slide up (Nokia claims part of the antannae is located in the slide and it should be opened for maximum receiver sensitivity).  The biggest thing is NO BELT CLIP IS AVAILABLE FOR THE PHONE.  Any other cell phone employees out there.....have you heard talk of this phone being pulled from Nokia's line-up?  I see that some carriers are now selling the phone for retail.  Has it come back with many defects?  We plan to launch within 6 weeks and I don't want to see a headache.  It will retail for $300 price range.  Any feedback is appriciated.

And, if you are selling the phone for retail....do you have belt clips available for the phone yet?

I own the 6265 and it the best phone I've ever had.

It has the strongest signal reception, no bugs or issues and also recently bought a leather case with belt clip!

The Nokia 6265 can be found here: http://www.nokia-asia.com/nokia/0,,74933,00.html

I can access the phone with old hyper links as well.  I am aware it is currently available in other countries.  However, is anyone in this discussion posting from the United States?  When North America is selected from Nokia main page the phone is not listed.  When the model number is searched for the specs list 1.3 MP camera instead of the 2 MP camera like the one I currently have.  Other question...you really got less dropped calls with this phone?  What models are you comparing it to?  I am looking at phones such as the Kyocera KX5/KX16 as well as Motorola V262 and 265 for recent phones.  I agree, cosmetically and feature wise it is by far on the top of the list for phones.  It is a beautiful phone with nice features.  I hope to see a successful launch in Pittsburgh.  If it is available in US, what carriers are using it currently?

I have had this phone since Feburary and had probably 1 maybe 2 dropped calls. In areas where most phones struggle to pick up reception the 6265 will get 1 or 2 bars.

Possibly since the phone I am using (both 6265 and 6165) are prototype models there are glitches that have been worked out for the production models.  I hope these phones perform as well for us as they have for you.  I'm going to be out of the phone next week and using the new K1m KRAZR (new Razr) and will be giving this phone a final evalution and recommendation for my carrier.  Based on your experience, I will recommend using the phone for retail.  Thanks for sharing your experience with the phone.  Are you in US or Europe, and what network does your phone run on (GSM, CDMA 1x, etc.).  I am looking for any differences between the phone you use and what we are looking to use.  Possibly the phone performs better using some platforms that others.

We 'Geeks' are based in New Zealand. The Nokia 6165 and 6265 are both CDMA phones, of which Telecom New Zealand are the only CDMA operator in New Zealand. Telecom have their CDMA network setup similar to Sprints in the USA, and have a 'close' relationship.
