Does anyone have any experience with compact flash umts or hsdpa modems for use with PDA's in Japan?

I've seen a couple of models (eg the Seiko Instruments VC701SI), but was hoping somebody might have actually used one and be able to comment on performance in Japan.

Should not be any different from the NZ 3G HSDPA network

That's what I had hoped.

But I've been proven wrong in the past - still not sure why the C1 GPRS compact flash cards work perfectly in New Zealand but fail to do circuit-switched/GSM connections successfully in Germany!

I've now seen that the P2403 (NTT DoCoMo) and Hitachi's W03H (KDDI au) are an option for users in Japan, but finding english specifications + user guides is proving to be difficult 8-). I think the easiest way is to make a trip over there!
