I Have just bought on Ebay a Sony Ericson T608 cell phone brand new that is configured for Sprint Service. I Have Verizon service and needed a Blue Tooth phone. This phone is CDMA and should work on the Verizon Network. Verizon said it was ok to use and they will activate for me but will provide no support. I am wondering if there are settings I will have to change within the phones software for it to work properly.

Has anyone done something similiar??

This appears to be a great phone and in short supply. The only Blue Tooth on Cdma I could find. The Battery life is also fantastic compared to others I have researched.

Any comments or advice would be appreciated.

It's a shame verizon doesn't have a better selection of phones like my friends on AT&T and others do !!!!!!!

To make a sprint configured T608 work properly on Verizon you will need to get the PRI settings updated in the phone. You will need to change the PRI settings from Sprint ntwk values to Verizon ntwk values. Its not easy and requires the correct interfaces to the phone. To do this you will need the asisst of someone at Verizon or a S/E dealer with the correct S/E PST tool.

You will also find that you probably only get basic voice service working, not SMS, data, wap etc.

Good luck..

Thank You for your reply.

I just got the phone and have been playing around with it. It is programed to dial sprint and Verizon will not assist me since it is locked the sprint service. Im sure sprint will not help either because I am not a customer.
Do I need an unlock code to get this to work and how can I obtain??
Thanks!!!

I finally got this phone to work with Verizon and the battery life and Blue tooth are excellent features that I really wanted. No luck on the Web browser and I don't know if email works. I do receive Text pages but I haven't tried text messaging!!!!!!!!!

Rainman - Can you describe how you ended getting the t608 to work on Verizon? I've been considering getting the Samsung SPH-i500 from Sprint and using it on Verizon.
Thanks in advance!
