Brought it home last night after problems with Telecom store getting online. I had it there in my greedy little hands and they said no you can't take it home till we register it with telecom. So back at 8pm to Sylvia park I go - sorted - good.

But by this time its "Kid-free quality time " ie Don't even think about tutooing with that now!"

So it sat there, all night... looking at me.

All night I'm subconsciously doing the unthinkable for a weekend - "please rain tomorrow - please  - just in the morning - I only need a bit of time - an hour tops - dont make me go outside and do all that fresh air stuff.

So its Saturday, sunny,  I'm outside - making my garden nice, playing with the kids! ... its still there in the window , unopened - looking at me, Laughing!

Oh man.... that's torture!!! Just get a 2nd TV and put 'Dora the Explorer' on REPEAT PLAY.

But... you'll need longer than an hour.... in a good way!

Managed to divert everyones attention at home for a while in the afternoon long enough to set it up.
Observations
1. I love the genie option on my laptop and iPhone. A bit clunky but gives the option to setup record while I'm out, from my phone, is great.
2. Setup the TiVo desktop on my laptop to get photos on TiVo .
3. Having trouble trying to set my laptop music up to play(Via TiVo desktop ) on my TiVo. Also can't see my recordings on TiVo desktop (so I can convert for iPhone. May be because "media access key" I used to setup laptop hasn't yet come through to TiVo. Will wait the
recommended 24hrs and try again.

3. After 2. I'll try to

Try changing between Bonjour and Beacon (Services menu > Tivo Server Properties > Network). Worked for me.

TiVoTimmy - cheers. I went to try that and found to my impatient disbelief that the "media access key" I entered into desktop had finally appeared on my TiVo - about 24hrs like they said.
So tried it all out.
I set up an auto transfer of a series.
Manual transfered the news (TiVo recorded that by itself- a bit weird -especially after watching that Adam Green TiVo short horror film)
I'll try an iPhone program conversion next.

One interesting thing I found was I now have 2 Identical sets of photos on my TiVo off the laptop. They seem like 2 different programs pointing to the same files on my laptop.

Edit: I just tried disabling the "Preview photos 2.0" option in TiVo server properties in desktop and now the extra set of photos is gone. I'm enabling it again cause it's a nicer interface than TiVo's native and gives access to flickr.
