Given that it is only available to Tivo owners I don't think it would causing too many headaches for Telesom.

actually - it went for a while and then stopped again

i don't think it coincided with a billing cycle, but I believe Telecom upgraded the Ellerslie exchange to ADSL2+ very recently so it may have had something to do with that? just a guess.

Actually, just so you know - Telecom know about the unlimited downloads on TIVO. it was part of the deal with TVNZ for the service. But they're not shouting about it, as I don't think they were overly happy about the whole thing.

Don't ask me how I know either. ;)

I heard a completely different reason for the un-metering that was hardware related.
No, its no secret, I know about it because Telecom cust service told me when I mentioned changing providers.

What deal with TVNZ?

Seems like a great marketing ploy by Telecom to sell Tivo. Sure they'll have a target to sell so many units then this glitch "no usage recorded " will disappear. How hard can it be to distinguish between content downloaded for Tivo and the downloading of torrents etc.
What better way to sell something- you'll get something for nothing , but dont tell anyone !!
Wouldn't be surprised if there are Telecom employees posting this info, as everyone at Telecom seems to know about it.
