Yeh buy a new tivo, might fix our old problems.
How come they dont advertise the $360 price or whatever it is? More people would by it if they mass marketed that way. Carry on, just thought I should share this. haha

If your TiVo is still not correct today try connecting to the TiVo service manually through settings>network>"connect to TiVo service now".

It appears they have applied a fix overnight but it won't show up until your device connects to the service to download the update.

Everything is back to normal for me.

A manual connect to the TiVo service this morning fixed the EPG for me.

you would think they would send an email or message out to customers letting them know to do a manual update.

In order to do that, they would have to openly announce to all their cusomters that they have had a problem. Many of their cusomters may not have realised there was a problem, although anyone watching TV last light on it would have seen the EPG guide was showing the wrong programs, and people wouldn't have had their programs recorded yesterday. Hope the main stream media get onto it to keep them honest, although our mainstream media is a bit slow on the uptake.

The update would have occured automatically next time your device connected as per its normal sync.  You do not have to force a manual update.  Most TiVo customers probably wouldn't have had a clue something has gone wrong

It surprises me they can't force the systems to re-update ...

I base this on the fact that when I'm out and about with my iphone or on the internets I can login to the tivo site and tell my tivo to record something even though I'm not at home ...

They say to do it at least one hour before the program is due to start ...

So presumably there's some sort of POP or polling taking place approx every hour just in case I've decided to use the internet to ask it to record something.

So surely they can send the system a special message to download the guides again?

****

And yes, the updated guide would download automatically for all ... but depending on when it was next due to connect (mine wasn't due again until about 7pm tonight) a lot of people would have been better off asking it to redownload.

wallop: Strange thing is that while the epg is out a recording started at the correct time of 4pm for me today (Top Chef on TV3).

Ours recorded "Top Chef" but it turned out to be an episode of "The News" not impressed.

I was under impression that when you book a program Tivo adds program to th to do list and
If a program with that name gets transmitted Tivo grabs it. The t ime should not matter
