Is anyone else having trouble with the tivo EPG today. It is two hours out, which means that programs are recording 2 hours behind schedule. eg the 6pm One news is displaying 8pm as the start time.

I have tried rebooting, but same problem, so I assume it is a TIVO problem, as the program schedules download from TIVOs servers. It was working fine yesterday

Also run the latest network upgrade, to download the latest EPG, but it is still out by 2 hours.

It's not just you. Am not at home near TiVo but the TiVo genie website EPG is also 2 hrs out.
Hopefully someone is paying attention at Telecom (I presume?)

Cheers,
Joseph

TiVo helpdesk are aware of the problem and are working on it. Said that any fix will unlikely show up until tomorrow. So in the meantime you will have to use the time record function.

Strange thing is that while the epg is out a recording started at the correct time of 4pm for me today (Top Chef on TV3).

I bet they have screwed up daylight saving. In the old days this weekend would have been the cutover.

Is it possible to temporarily set the time on the Tivo forward by 2 hours?

Edit: interesting that my posting time here is 20:33 instead of 18:33. Did GZ and Tivo apply the same service pack on Fri night  :p

Edit: of course the posting time was my timezone settings, have figured out how to correct it

Unlikely as it was fine until today.

I'm so glad I belong to Geekzone - now I know I'm not suffering alone with this TiVo technical glitch.

I see they have a vague message on their status page about the problem. Took a while to find the status page on the tivo website. They may have a lot of pee'd of people who had programmed stuff to record on saturday night from the epg.

The weird thing was when I first noticed the issue if I opened up the Guide it would for 2 seconds show the correct program (The Omen at 8:30pm) on TV3 but then everything would shift out for 2 hours for TV3 ... the other 2 channels seemed correct ...

Then when I tried redownloading the epg data and restarting it everything was out by 2 hours all the time ...

Surprises me that it takes them so long to fix it ... If it was a simple epg issue you'd think they just correct the times and or re-run the job that compiles all the data for them ... of course I'm no expert, that's just my 2c.

I noticed it about at 7:30 this morning.
I updated my network settings but that didn't correct it.
Updated it about 7pm tonight but it didn't correct itself.
Pretty disappointed as I have missed a few programs. I just assumed that it would correct itelf.

I suspect their techs are away during the weekend. I doubt the TVNZ news will get onto this problem, as tivo in NZ is part owned by TVNZ. Maybe TV3 could rip into the story. I missed grand designs as I forgot to do a manual program for it.

Maybe this will give us an excuse to pull out the old VCR.

Yeap the VCR still has it's uses. However I think the manual setup in tivo is still easier to do than setting up the VCR. Or at least the same complexity.
