CB_24: Try again, the first (next level) guy turned me down as well and got someone different last night and she was more than willing to help me out.

The key line to use is "I'm currently looking into which provider can give me the best deal"

Or you are considering as switch to Vodafone for the MySky offering, what Telecom offer.

I have just managed to get myself a new Tivo also.  I just mentioned that I was thinking of moving to Vodafone to take up the MySky deal and they were most happy to keep me on.  Result.

if you quoted "Connect 10" you would get the free tivo as well as a $10 discount a month for 12 months,  ,again new customers only

Common sense is not as common as you think.

even better!!!

i signed up in December 2011 ... for my new BB to be connected beginning of Feb 2012 ... rang today to pay bill ... "is there anything else i can help you with?"

cheeky reply "you won't be able to give me a free tivo would you?"

"let me check with the back office (sometime similar) team"

"they said ok, it's on its way"

can't believe "can i have the order number please just in case"

... now waiting with a big grin from ear to ear ... that beats the $75/mth with 2 mths free that i missed out on TCL even though it was commercially "undeserved"!

PRAISE THE LORD!!!

Contract expired with Orcon. Signing up to Telecom for the free tivo and wifi modem offer with connect10 promo code so will be paying $105/month for 60GB in Hamilton. Was looking at Vodafone which is $100 for 60GB and free wifi modem but the free tivo is worth more than $60/year extra with Telecom!

Do whatever you want to do man.

The door to door Vodafone guy gave me that $100 deal last month for $90 a month.
Pretty good speeds and a decent Wireless N modem.
With the Telecom wire maintenance charge going up in April it is more like $180 - $200 saving a year, which is what Noel Leeming was selling TiVos for.

Still going.
Got my Tivo on the way, free of charge!
Got a reduction in plan cost too, $20 less per month
A win for Telecom (not often THAT gets said!)

The link is down now.  Anyone know if the offer is still going, and if so, what is the phone number?

I did it a few weeks ago. Woman on the phone wasn't having a bar of it. I tried everything then as we were about to say goodbye I said "thanks for your help I might just look around, there's some good deals out there"

Next minute.. "Just hold the line please sir"

Tivo + $10 off each month for 12months. Just have to stay for another 12months but hey I've been with them for 8 years.

Funniest part was when she said thanks for giving us another chance.

Lady, I had no intention of leaving.

Haven't set it up yet. No UHF on the roof and since I'm a renter I might wait till I'm a home owner.

Still going as of yesterday. I wasn't aware of the $10 discount on top of the tivo, so that was a nice surprise. Never thought I would be switching back to telecom, but their current offering is the best deal I could find. I am going to be saving at least $50 per month, plus the free tivo and modem.
