I bought an extra Tivo 360 about a year ago with the intention of having an extra TV in the bedroom. But never really liked the idea of a TV in the bedroom (wife does though!) so have not used it. It is still brand new in the box and my lovely baby daughter started ripping the box which reminded me of it.

I have three options, and wanted to ask the Geek Zone community what I should do.

Option 1: Sell on Trade me via auction. I checked expired sales and new tivos can go for between 200 and 500. This is the best option if I am greedy.

Option 2: List on Geekzone in the sales section. As it is xmas I could make it for same price as what I paid ($199).This would make me feel good, especially as it is xmas time, but how would I know that somebody would not buy then sell on TM for profit at my expense?

Option 3: Set up Tivo in bedroom. This would please the wife, but I would need to now buy another tv, and she would also probably like the money.

So Geek Zoners, what do I do? Sell on Trade Me and please the wife. Sell to Geek Zoner and get good karma. Set up in my bedroom? Or am I dreaming that I could get lots on Trademe.

Let me know. Thanks.

We have two in the lounge. Work well together. Wife can record 4 channels at once!

4 channels? I did not think there would be enough you want to record on freeview channels that are worth watching. two recorders are plenty for me!

Actually 6. There's a TiVo in the bedroom as well. I usually get to record my stuff as well, so she's not always recording 6 programs at once. ;-)

From all the Tivo failure posts and at only $200, I would keep it as a spare. The only danger is losing Tivo support, EPG etc before you get round to ever using it.

I looked for tivos on trademe for a while and never saw one for more than 300, most went for around 250, which means around 220 after fees.

I reckon you should either keep it or give it to a friend or family member for Xmas pressure.

If you want to do option 2, I'm looking for a TiVo for my folks (I already have one and think it's awesome) and would have no interest in on selling it.
