I bought a faulty Tivo recently.

I hoped it was just the drive, but it's actually a small crystal on the Motherboard.

With thanks to Darren the Tivo Dr in Oz, (http://kingey1971.wix.com/tivorepairs), I'm soon to take it apart and do my first MB repair. Darren's diagnosis has I think correctly diagnosed what's wrong and with a bit of good timing and great luck we were able to source replacement crystals which have been a difficult part to find. The repair is tricky but I'm up for it!

I have some crystals coming to me from the good doctor and I have 4 more than I need.

So I'm happy to on send The Tivo Dr's generosity to others here in this Forum if you think you can undertake the repair and keep another Tivo alive. PM me and then send a self addressed/stamped envelope and I'll send one crystal on.

But please note I only have 4 available and you will need to have a Tivo with the fault described in the header. There are some other things you will need to try to confirm the crystal based fault.

If you simply want to donate your dead Tivo to my workbench experiment, please feel free..!
