I am thinking of adding a 2TB drive to my Tivo.

I need the wdidle3.exe download to make the modification explained below;

http://www.oztivo.net/twiki/bin/view/Hardware/WesternDigitalGreenDriveInTiVoHDWorkaround

T
he download site link is saying it's dangerous with malware.

So does anyone have the download on CD so I can borrow and return - postage at my cost.

Thanks.

Could be a false positive. You taken a look at the file with VirusTotal?

No I didn't go that far.

I'm so nervous when the 'Dangerous Site Ahead' red flag kicks in that I stop there.

I may get in touch with Darren (Tivo Dr) and see if he can send it over as a file. I know it will be safe.

The warning is for the domain, not for the specific file. I wouldn't use that but it wouldn't harm if you downloaded the file, mounted (without auto exec) and scanned the contents.

You still need to add that to a bootable disk, which becomes a PITA.

Just use the ultimate boot cd.

Trust me, you'll save a lot of time and hassle.

Also, Wdidle3 alters all compatible connected disks. If you have other WD brand disks in the machine you are using, you might chose to disconnect them first. It's up to you.

If the other disks are WD green's, they'd probably benefit from the change anyway.

I now have the CD ready to go for the new Green WD 1TB drive.

If anyone does need the wdidle3.exe a way to get it is to go here http://www.oztivo.net/twiki/bin/view/Hardware/WesternDigitalGreenDriveInTiVoHDWorkaround

Underneath the 'Back to hardware' line is a link to the ISO;

Simply download and burn to CD.

Then follow the instructions at the oztivo 'workaround' link above and boot from the CD.

TIP: Detach all other hard drives on your PC and boot from this disc and follow instructions.

Thanks for the tips and help to those in this thread!
