Put in starlink a few weeks ago and now updating the epg is hit and miss. It did work. Then stopped updating but a manual update worked. Now not working at all.

Anyone managed to get it working?

Cheers

Mike

Thought I would try connecting thru a VPN. Setup my router to use a VPN for all traffic and still no go. Anyone have any ideas if a VPN should work?

Are you sure its not a Tvio problem? THere have been many issues in the past few months with EPG.

It appears  that Tivos  fail to download EPG data from the community hosted server when connected via Starlink. I've had a few clients report this problem. I've communicated this to the EPG guys and this is what they had to say:

"In terms of the emulator, the downloads are https and port is 8000 which is basically nothing special now days."

As other ISP's, even those using CGNAT like Starlink are apparently not affected, logically it would seem the problem lies with some limitation with Starlink or their firewall rules.

Thanks for the replies. I just plugged my farmside connection back in (it's live until the end of the week) and the TiVo connected fine. So definitely Starlink. Strange my last successful connection was Friday morning. Maybe a firmware update came thru. Think I will contact Starlink support and see what they say. Probably won't get anywhere but worth a try.

Thanks again

If you do get a response from Starlink, I'd be grateful if you could pass it on.

Although unrelated,  there has been a small issue with lack of EPG data beyond this coming Tuesday  for TV1, 2, 3 and at least one other channel up until last night, but I see that the problem appears to have been resolved when I checked a short time ago. The Tivo EPG server is totally dependent on the data it uses being available.

Will do.

Just got a reply from Starlink. They are sending out a replacement router and cable. Although after reading the OzTivo forum today I think the problem might be the epg server not recognizing the starlink ip address as being a NZ one.

Will let you know if the new bits fix it or not.

Cheers

Looks like it is at the server end, not recognizing all NZ starlink ip addresses. The guide updated yesterday via starlink. Got a new IP today and the update failed.
