I have noticed this problem for a few weeks now.
We have a series-link set to record "Come Dine With Me" choosing first run and repeats.
The show runs weekday afternoons but TiVo refuses to record the Friday episodes, even when I select the Friday episode on it's own and ask it to record it specifically.

I notice that when I select the Friday episode in the guide and click the record button I don't get the "Record as planned" option that I would expect with a show on series link, just the "Record This Showing" option, which I select. But it still doesn't record it.

Annoying especially as Friday is the finale of each 5 day competion.
I have not other conflicting recordings set to record at the same time. I sat here today and watched to see if it would record but no joy.

Anyone else noticed and possibly rectified this problem?

Damon

look in the "view recording history" section of the to do list. it should tell you why a given episode didn't (or won't) record.

Also, check if you have schedule any other programs to record at the same time. If there are any conflict with other channel recording on the same time.

Thanks, I said in my original post that there weren't any other programmes scheduled at the same time.

I am wondering if it is flagged differently to the rest of the week so that TiVo doesn't recognize it as the same programme.

If you look at the to-do list it will show what upcoming recording are planned. Is the friday episode listed?

I will check it out, thanks

as an update: It "forgot" to record "The Virgin Queen" on Sunday despite both myself and my girlfriend asking it to record it. When set it, again I never got asked if I wanted to "record as planned?" so I selected season pass and asked it to record all showings as the second episode was on Monday and I wanted both. As it turned out my girlfriend had already selected it from the guide and asked it to record.

Sooo...I am wondering if I somehow cancelled the scheduled recording by asking it to record it again before it had updated my recording schedule and the 2nd instance is treated as cancellation of the first request?

I hadn't even thought of the to-do list as I have not really used it before.
