This would be really nice - however as TIVO in NZ is run by Hybrid I do not see this happening any time soon? They want TIVO users to PAY for the content via CASPA. What do you reckon? I'd ask them via the support site but they never get back to you.

The Tivo's in AU/NZ don't have the capability (enabled?). Streambaby Tivo Application used this in the USA ones to do streaming but it doesn't work in the AU/NZ ones (or I would have written an app to do it already)

Thanks
Craig

I have asked, and I have been told there are no plans currently for this to be included in the NZ/AU Tivos.

It's nothing to do with hardware, it's simply a marketing choice.

Hi Craig does streambaby work at all on NZ TiVo's? I tried it out last night but got java errors in the cmd window and the videos would not play (ithe shared folders showed up in the TiVo streambaby app menu and I could browse to the videos no problem). Sorry didn't take a note of the error messages.

Nick.

They really don't want to sell those tivos...

Streambaby will run ok.. and you will view the contents, but they will not stream to NZ/AU ones.

I had a few Tivo Apps running .. I must get them up and running again so you can see..

Thanks

I'm sure Telecom woudl be up for it, I mean it utilises their network right?  I think it's a Hybrid choice.  Goes hand in hand with the choice to show archived TVNZ content on Sky but not TiVo ... and TVNZ own a share in Hybrid ... weirdness.

CASPA would be competing directly with YouTube so that may be the reason Hybrid dont want it. To get YouTube in the US do you have to pay a subscription?
