I've just got my second tivo up and running and bought the HNP.  This is all working fine.  I've renamed both Tivos - one for 'lounge' and one 'family'.  The tivos now appear on each others Now Playing List, and I can transfer between devices fine.

What is strange is that each tivo appears twice - once under 'Lounge Media Device' and again under 'Media Device'.  The same applies to the other machine where I see 'Family Media Device' and 'Media Device'.

Is that normal?  How do I get rid of the double up?

Also what is the best free app for transfers to a Mac?  I'm just wanting something easy to use with the ability to transfer the odd recording to DVD or to my iPad.

Had the same problem with our three units. The generic "Media Device" listings did disappear after a few days.

Problem solved - restarted both tivos and the wireless router and all is OK.
