Wow, nice resolution.

What scope & camera & mount are you running?

For that shot I used a ZWO ASI294MC camera, Askar FRA300 scope, on a EQ6-R mount

How does that compare to using your usual camera and image stacking?

I hope some of you have entered the Sony Alpha Awards. Some photos here would be up to the quality I've seen in this year's winners.

Quality is a little better, probably mainly because of the filters a normal dslr has in front of the sensor. But plenty of people mod their dslr for astrophotography.

I find it much easier to use though, and with it being cooled it has much less issues with noise over long exposures

Also the one I have is a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, and so I can use it for luna/planets , as well as geting decent deep sky object.

Still have to do all the image stacking stuff, but just a bit easier all round.

@Raikyn if you've got any planet pics, I'd like to see them.

Shame that he T&Cs that rule out so much talent.

Handheld, no tripod.

Took a few. This is the first time I haven’t ended up with an overexposed white blob.

Quite some years since I walked through there and I don't recall it having having lights. You are right about the history of the area 😀
