The original photo had quite a soft, almost foggy look to it as it was shot in pouring rain. As I started processing it and adding contrast I noticed the huge change in the foreground colours, matching the paddock colours. The only explanation I have for it is that the colours of the paddocks are being reflected off the road or in the rain that is bouncing off the road. As it was a 30sec exposure the rain drops would have created a 'sheet' of water in front of the lens which is probably the most likely reason for the reflection. Looks cool. Only a couple of weeks old and this image is already on its way to an international conference for roading engineers via the NZTA.

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

I wanted to see what would happen if i stacked the set of extension tubes on one end of my 100mm Macro and a 10+ diopter on the other.
Result? Well DOF sort of went out the window but that is the bottom edge of a $1 coin un-cropped :-)

the extension tubes won't affect image quality but the diopter bit will make it a bit softer
