On the subject of parallel importing - which I'm sure will be controversial - I would personally advise against it. Most of the retailers selling parallel imported goods seem to be relatively unknown, and when they eventually go belly up you are left with no warranty support.

If someone does parallel import a camera etc at least find what the warranty provides, there are not many international warranty's left in the world they are usually regional now days to try and stop parallel importing

Canon 70D would be very nice but out of my price range. Even used on Trademe is $900+ for body alone, and $1200+ for one with a lens.

For you it won't make a difference 70D or 750D at this stage ... it might in the future ... but there will probably be a 80D and lots of cheap 70Ds floating around ... so yeah ...  win-win

Really wish I hadn't read that. I bought the 750d on Tuesday. Noel Leeming price matched JB Hifi so it came down to $879 after cash back. I never even considered Black Friday. It's only $80 but the sales guy said the price he gave was the best he could do. All I had to was wait a few more days...

Sorry about that.
Did you buy with Visa with price guarantee perhaps?

Hope you enjoy your new camera.

Ok, looks like it does have Price Guard. Anyone know how to make a claim? BNZ's webpage isn't helpful about things like that.

Didn't Noel Leeming used to do a price match if you purchased a product from them and it was advertised cheaper within a specific period?

Now all I can see on their website is one that related to price matching prior to purchasing

Does it still apply?

A quick Google shows policy detail on PriceGuard in the Platinum Visa Insurance Ts and Cs, but it states it ends 30 Apr 12. See https://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjD7fycw6_JAhUHHKYKHbybCnUQFggwMAI&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bnz.co.nz%2Fstatic%2Fwww%2Fdocs%2Finfo%2Fbnz-platinum-card-international-travel-insurance.pdf&usg=AFQjCNHzVD3w5gAHypiCXNVp_o-5usDHlg&sig2=NzCZc1pb3sEry5zrD2O3hQ

Perhaps see if you can find a current version of these Ts and Cs to see if it's in there?

Presumably it is the one covered here which includes details on how to claim.
Perhaps the issue would be

"that is actually available in New Zealand from a competing retailer/supplier"

in which case, it is still cheaper from jb hi-fi currently ($849 after cashback).

I mean if they reduce the price you get the discount. OR you can return the product within 14 days NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Then buy it back. I did just that last time when all arguments failed.
