hey I just bought a gopro HD hero 2 and am looking for a SD card for it.

Im wanting a 32gb class 10 card. looking on pricespy the most popular choice is this

http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=605300

I dont mind getting that but i did a bit of reading and allot of people say it cannot do HD video recording.

I would like one of these but im not paying $200 for a sdcard

http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=969000

i found them on amazon for around us$50 but no where would ship to nz.

can anyone recommend a good card available in NZ or an overseas store that ships to NZ for a reasonable cost. i would prefer from nz so i can use my camera sooner

edit another option is

Transcend or SanDisk. Beware of fakes.

Kingston reputable but entry level, should be totally fine. For my weddings I use only expensive SLC transcend (if it's cheap it's MLC) or SanDisk extreme.

I have one of these, more than happy with it.  I have recorded 3hrs of 720p video non-stop without any problems. Price $69.95!

Sandisk 32GB class 4 is quite highly recommended.

"Class 2 and 4 cards have better random access speed and random read/write than class 6 or 10 cards in general. To get higher sequential write speeds, manufacturers sacrifice the random access speeds."

Why Class 10? Only rational reason to spend the extra money on Class 10 is if you regularly change up large amounts of files on your card via a PC.

That was my understanding as well when I researched a card for my new camera (still, but takes HD video as well).  I took the cautious approach and went for potential limiting factor in camera which was sequential write speed.  So I got a class 10 for that purpose - if for phone, I would have gone for class 4 definitely.  May be that c4 would have been sufficient (I am not expoert enough to know for sure).  What I did find out was that different cards in same class can produce varying results - so I used CrystalDiskMark to check both the Sandisk c10 and the Fuji c4 that came with camera.  As a matter of interest, results are shown below (sorry about text - too lazy to figure out how to post charts!).

Personally from my reviews and experience the Class 10 was overkill for home video HD. I went the Class 6 route and also on noting that the camera writes a new file each time you start / pause/resume recording the 16Gb/8Gb cards were fine and reasonably priced. Better to have more cards in case you lose or one gets corrupted as only lose what's on that card. Remember SD cards are not forever and do 'wear out' with constant read/writes

On the gopro a class 10 card is required for the timelapse mode. While I will probably not use the 0.5 sec delay I would like the option. I will probably get some cheaper cards for video and keep the class 10 for time lapse.

I got the transcend card in the end. Thanks all for the advice
