Hello folks... My old Nikon D50 had a problem and wouldn't pop the flash open. As a result, after a couple of shots, the lens on top of the flash turned yellow-ish... This means any photo that needs flash now gets less than optimal light.

Short of getting a Speedlight, is there a place in Wellington to replace just the plastic cover, not the whole flash?

ebay is great for these sorts of little things, otherwise you'll have to send it for repair. A low end speedlite, pehaps third party, could be cheaper than a repair if they can only replace the whole flash unit.

Hi - it could be worth talking to camera repairman-extraordinaire Phil Jacobs. He's based in Petone and could possibly offer suggestions... he may even have a junked D50 that can be scavanged... ph. 04 568 6782.
Over the years he's helped me and many photographers that I know with all sorts of 'impossible' repairs. Good luck.

Cheers,
Mike
