No, I tried a while back but they weren't available to anyone outside the US. It looks like they've changed that now and it might be a bit easier to find one.

I was dead set on grabbing one but after reading/watching all the reviews that have come out recently i'm more interested to see what a second version will be like as there isn't much about the current generation I like as much as the design aesthetic.

Looks interesting, but for me at this stage too gimmicky and unproven as a 'serious' camera and too expensive for an experimental toy.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Hey I've used my boss' Lytro for a week. It's an interesting idea, but definitely not something I'd put my own money into at this generation of the device.

The resolution of the images is quite measly, low light performance was poor, and without the Lytro embedding app (which I think runs on flash) you can't actually play around with the focus anywhere feature.

Will see what the next gen brings.

The manufacturers say that the low light performance is far superior to standard cameras. Can you post some pictures you have taken with it?

That's what I thought looking at the demo shots on the page.  Like early digital cameras or web cam or basic cell phone photos at this stage.

Video support would be an interesting add on to is as well :-)

I'll have to wait till someone I know gets one and then have a play .. I'm not sure if the webpage shows real use or simulated use.
