Hi - I'd like to download a Y/T video.

I've been "bitten" by using software that contains malware and other nasties (even though I thought I'd done all the research necessary to ensure I was using something honourable)...

What's everyone's software-of-choice and what would you suggest?

Click2Flash is a plugin for Safari and I think Chrome too, this allows you to download YouTube videos. Otherwise you can use web services like KeepVid.

You don't need to download and install software to do this.

Thanks - I've almost got no hair left from pulling it out so often!

Using Chrome here (hahaah - I thought everyone used Chrome, lol).

Firefox has an extensive collection of plugins that can be used to download video from youtube.

You are required to install precisely zero software locally. This has been a free SaaS for some time.

Step 1: Pick any YouTube video you would like to download. I've made a likely selection for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfVsfOSbJY0

Step 2: Before the youtube and after the www. add the string: pwn (i.e. http://www.pwnyoutube.com/watch?v=kfVsfOSbJY0)

Step 3: Select any one of the number of video/audio download options.

Step 4: ???

Step 5: Profit!

I have to make a confession though ...must've been having a blonde moment...

I actually use Freemake heaps but didn't realise I could use it to upload URLs (dugh!) ...

I use it to convert files to WMV so they don't take forever and the next day to upload to Y/T ... talk about feel stupid for not realising it did what I wanted and I've had it all along.
