Hi there,

I am after a video editing software for DVD that can edit videos i.e cut segments of it and save it as a avi file. I used to use this..http://avidemux.sourceforge.net/ but unfortunately it's letting me open the DVD file to crop. Is there any other software that I can use?

Many thanks in advance for your help..

Ta

You could try using DVD Decryptor to copy off the DVD, then Handbrake to make into MP4, then edit it with something. Also look at MPEG Streamclip, old but widely used.

I asked about open source video editing stuff a while back, the consensus was you're probably better off buying consumer stuff from Sony or Adobe.

I see..I ended up using VLC player to capture the segments which saves it as a mpg and used video joiner to combine the clips together.
