So I was tossing up between SanDisk Extreme, SanDisk Ultra and Lexar Micro SD cards and not sure which one to get and 32 or 64bg...

Also ive been looking around and PB Tech in wellington seems to have the cheapest prices for the cards, would you guys recommend me getting one from them?

I got a 32GB Sandisk Extreme from PB and love it.  Use to use it in Canon dSLR's and a Sony Actioncam, it's now in my phone.

It's a great card.

get the fastest speed you can afford. I have some slow ones and transferring 30gb of stuff ... painful, let alone 64gb

I purchased the Lexar from PB Tech during the black Friday deals period.
It works fine in my new Hero4 Silver and can handle the protune setting on video with no dropping issues.

I have the 4 Silver - 32GB is large enough that for video that it'll run out of charge before it runs out of space.

You must have protune turned off? Mine chews thorough the card space in video mode.

As for accessories, check out banggood.com or dx.com for cheap but quality options. They take up to a month to arrive, sometimes less, sometimes more, so the aren't really an option if you need it tomorrow. The genuine gopro accessories are incredibly expensive for essentially the same thing as the china options.

For anyone else looking, too, the Samsung Evo and Samsung Pro SDHC/microSDHC cards are awesome.

Thanks guys! loving all the suggestions/help!

So what about batteries? I've heard if a cheaper/better option to go with wasabi battery and charger for the 3+ silver instead of getting the more expensive GoPro branded ones?

Cheap Lipo's and stuff are getting more difficult to get out of china recently. I have had a couple of shipments go back and get refunded because they picked up on the cells in them.

Also happening to people on flights now. When I was coming back from HK there were some people having a shouting match with the customs guys over some camera batteries. I didnt take that many with me and didnt get any more when I was there, and it looked like these guys had half a suitcase of them. There are also big signs on the counter showing the limits on them.

Strangely enough if you were to stack all your 18650 cells into one of the cheap power banks that are everywhere over there, that would count as 1 piece of electronics rather than the not allowed bare cells. Guess there is a use for those powerbanks after all.
