Nikon has apparently announced price increases for lenses and flashes up to 18%.

 

At present the suggestion seems to be Japan only but I suspect that the increases will feed through around the world in due course. So if you were planning on that new lens, it probably won't be cheaper than it is today!

The yen vs most other currencies has taken a pretty big pasting over the last couple of years,,( lots of QE from the BOJ , capped off yesterday by negative interest rates) - I would expect other regions to rise no where near as much, and in case of the US prices could even fall...
