Hi geeks,

I plan to buy some more camera equipment and was wondering if you can recommend a store or shop.

Where do you guys buy your camera gear? Do you have a preferred location?

Thanks in advance for any advice :)

Daniel

Progear in Newmarket for expensive stuff like a camera body. Their after sales support is awesome. Have been using them for years. For stuff like batteries, CF cards, i shop around to get the best deal.

You don't say where you are, but in Auckland my preferred suppliers are Progear (primarily), or Auckland Camera. Both great to deal with.

Thanks t0ny, I will check them out.

I have been comparing Noel Leeming and JB Hi-Fi but they don´t have a huge selection and sell most cameras as kit, but not the body only. Also their pricing was not really convincing.

Thanks Stu, yes sorry. I am in Auckland, forgot to mention that :)

Ok good to hear that you also recommend Progear. Will also check out Auckland Camera.

Thanks for the tip.

Christchurch based but ship worldwide. They are fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Great pricing also.

As above, but also Wellington Photographic Supplies and B&H in New York - biggest camera store in the world I believe. Be careful with warranties if buying overseas. I got at least one of my Nikon bodies from there, the NZ prices at the time were ridiculous. B&H support is good.

Thanks timmmay. I knew B&H in New York, but rather want to buy locally. I will have a look at the Wellington Photography Supplies. Thanks for the tip.
