I have just posted some photos in the DIY forum via MacBook and they’re OK.

When I view that post on iPad, some of the photos are upside down. Grateful if anyone can shed some light on this.

This is possibly due to one piece of software displaying JPEGs using the EXIF orientation value and the other not.

Safari, Preview and Affinity Designer are all showing the photo upside-down on my machine (Mac OS 10.15.6). I suspect that this is the 'correct' orientation. Which browser were you using on your Mac?

As above, the camera put some wrong orientation values on the photo. It happens depending on the angle the phone is held while taking the photo. One way of fixing it is by editing the original photo, rotating it as needed until it goes around 360 and saving. This should reset the orientation data.

Nothing to do with uploading to Geekzone really.

Safari on Mac and iOS - all showing correctly on Mac - some inverted in iOS.

I suspected the problem is at my end - wasn’t impugning GZ.

I've had it happen on my iPad. I rotated the iPad around 180 degrees, then re-uploaded photo and then it was up the right way.

For some reason if have device upside down, device flips picture so it's up right way, the uploads go upside down even though looking alright on device.

Edit: Your case seems to be happening reverse way...maybe just edit photo iPad and flip orientation?

Thanks but sorry not sure what you mean. The photos are OK in the iPad Photos app album.

Sorry I can't replicate it. It has happened to me before but can't seem to make it happen deliberately.

Have taken photo's upside down now, tried different rotations on iPad taking pictures, but when check PC photo's are up right way on preview pictures, where have had pictures appear fine on iPad in past, but when viewing GZ on PC they were upside down.

I did get around it by re-uploading picture but can't remember exactly what did. Think I edited picture on iPad but rotated it 180 so was upside down on iPad, from memory it still was upside down viewing upload from PC.

I may have rotated it another 180, so back up right way on iPad and then upload appeared ok on PC, and mistakenly thought it was uploading with iPad up other way.

I suggest trying what Freitasm said.

I would do that but you can’t edit a post once it’s more than an hour old.
