What do you get for nz$222 (@0.72) landed?
Quite a bit actually :)

Wave-particle BL-720QPA Megapixel HD

The lens that came with it looked like a normal StandardDefinition lens.
Purchased a Fujinon YV2.8X28SA-SA2L , locally. nz$154
Since the camera has no Iris output I jammed the shutter open to full for the test.
Made it a pain to focus though.

I was surprised not to find a web interface on it.
Can only be configured from their nDVR software.

Night and day.

Only the street lights lighting it. No frame integration.

Comparison of a normal SD and HD, this was before I installed the good lens on the 720Q.

Runs Linux, anyone keen to hack the firmware?
Got a few customizations in mids to make it more useful for an application.
First one being not having to use the poor software to view it.

Looks good, about time some sensible priced ones came out since it has been ages that you could get a cheap digital camera with a way better resolution than SD.

Is there an analog output on it as well to plug into existing stuff which I dont want to replace just yet?

No analog out on this one. :(

You could run both DVR software on the same machine though.

Only catch is how to allocate storage as they would not share like a single instance of the sw.

The sw is analog aware, although you would need to locate the analog card from the same manufacture.

Slightly off topic but... What options are there for recording multiple streams from IP cameras? Would be cool to get 3/4 of these and use them @ work for security cameras. Have an LCD on the operations manager desk which could show live streams and the ability to check back on an individual camera would be cool.

The feature you are referring to would be a spot monitor.

On an analog system there is usually a dedicated output to connect a monitor showing a live feed from 1 camera.

You can not run multiple instances of the DVR sw and connect the same camera.

So no multiple streams from cameras.

But you can connect to the DVR server remotely.

I have just tested the remote sw and it does not allow searching of the DB.

So only the server can be used for searching.

The remote connection can be used to view the live cameras.

Unfortunately they only display at CIF (320x240) res.

Remote can mean the same machine.

So if you have multiple monitors you can put the 'remote' window on the other monitor.

Hope that makes sense.

Hi mrwestie !

I have buy the same camera ! The quality is very good ! But it's impossible to get the flow without the software!

You can go inside the camera with telnet.

And FTP://root:root@192.168.x.x

I think something is possible ...
