I'm not sure about a dodge and burn plug-in (what's wrong with the built in dodge and burn?) but to add scripts and plug-ins, simply bung them in the scripts directory (somewhere in documents and settings, if you're using Windows).

PS this may be of use: http://wiki.osphoto.org/index.php/GIMP_scripts

Just quick what's gimp like compared to photoshop? Is it comparable for features? Or is it a pretty big whack in functionality compared to PS?

I haven't really used Photoshop but from what I can gather GIMP does most of what Photoshop can do, and does it as well as Photoshop, but it's perhaps not as sophisticated or as polished in its user interface.

Interesting, I might just have to look into it! Would definitely save a lot on licensing costs considering I hardly use photoshop's really involved features such as compositing and HDR merging
