Where do you as a professional photographer print your photos?

I’ve used Harvey Norman in Lower Hutt, but sadly with not much luck!  Example: I printed the very same photos one day and the next day I needed more, so went back and used the same memory stick and the photos are very different in colour, and quite a bit darker than the day before.  I did no adjustments on either day and used the same machine.  Can anyone offer suggestions as to this, and where do you print your photos?

Cheers and thanks for your help.

In town i use either Big Image Print or Wellington Photographic Supplies, both are on Vivian St. If i want small prints for albums and the likes i use WPS and if i'm after canvas/bigger prints i use BIP.

I can confidently say i would never get my images printed from a store like HN or the likes as they're all full of people who know how to push buttons not what the buttons do. I want my images printed by people who know not only what the buttons do but have 5 different ways of doing it to get the best result. You might pay more but it's worth it.

What you could do is start asking some questions to where-ever you go.
What dpi should I edit to?
Use AdobeRGB or sRGB?
Should I calibrate my monitor and what is the best way to do it?
Can I use jpg, tiff, dng, pps files?
What ink and paper do you use?

That kind of thing. Make sure they know the basics before they touch your photos.

If not using WPS then I would send them online to Digitalmax (now called Snapfish I think) and an ordinary 6X4 is then only 20c or thereabouts.

You can make the delivery charge less by nominating a local pharmacy as your collection point rather than having them delivered to you at home.

I can't say you wouldn't get the same disparity in results as the places you have tried but I've been happy with results in over 3 years' use and they are very affordable compared to other options.
